Flaming Lantern 火燈籠 is an Asian culture inspired T-Shirt brand we will create and launch. The brand is to promote Asian cultures, particularly Chinese culture, both ancient and pop, through creative interpretation and illustration of Asian philosophies, ideals, accomplishments, attitudes and virtues with powerful images, elegant designs and iconic or clever words/phrases. We want to create a brand that us, Asian American would be proud to wear both as a fashion statement as well as a cultural statement. We seek not to divide, but to unite people of different ethnicities and backgrounds through the celebration and appreciation of Asian culture via art and fashion. We truly aim to be both fashionably tasteful and culturally uplifting.
The Name, Flaming Lantern:
Lantern is an ancient lighting device that was unique to the Asian culture. It is an universal symbol of guiding light for Asian people who had to journey through the darkness of the nights. It illuminates people's path with warmth and gentle light. Flame on the other hand, projects passion, relentless determination, hope and power. Combining the two, we have a stunning yet meaningful image of a powerful, wild and passionate light that illuminates the paths of Asian people in this world of change, uncertainty and as well as exciting opportunities.
